Why are we doing this?

We want to help everyone get back to living and we do that through giving you peace of mind that the people around you have a recent, verifiable negative COVID-19 test. We use test results to do that. We don’t want to only accept test results from the largest labs. We want to support you from whatever testing group you use. To do that, we just need the test result so we can add it to our system and we’re spending $25,000 to do it.

I uploaded my test and the app told me "the document doesn't match". What does that mean?

This means we compared your uploaded document to all of our known testing center formats and this document didn’t match any of them. Your document now goes into our queue for review. If your document is a valid format (see below) and you are the first person to submit this format to SafeFun, you will receive a gift card. Submitted results are generally reviewed in 48-72 hours.

What is a valid format?

There are many factors that go into a test result document being a valid format. Although this is not an exhaustive list, this will give you a sense for the qualifications. We have these requirements in order to prevent fraudulent test results being imported into SafeFun.

  • The document must be in PDF format
  • The document must have been generated by the testing company directly as a PDF test result
  • Document must include patient’s first name, last name, date of birth, test type and test date
  • Scans and faxes are not valid
  • Generally, documents generated by print-to-pdf functions are not valid with the exception of some documents from MyChart. These have to be evaluated on a document-by-document basis.
  • Outdated versions of test results are not valid. If the testing center has a newer version of the document, the older versions are not eligible
  • Photos of test results are not valid
  • Hand-written test results are not valid

How long does review take?

If your test result was not recognized, it will display with a red question mark. This means it is in review. Review generally takes 48-72 hours. The review process is normally two steps – a quick review to determine if the format is valid and then a more thorough review to input the test into our system. The review process can take longer if the test result format is one that we do not support today. If this is the case, it will be marked as Pending. See below.

My test result was matched immediately. What does that mean?

If your imported test result immediately has a checkmark next to it, that means it was matched to an already-known format in our system. This is not a new format and not eligible for a gift card.

What does Pending mean?

If your test result has a red question mark and its status is Pending, that means it is pending further review. In general, this means that it is a format that we are interested in supporting but cannot today. Test results in the Pending state are still potentially eligible for a gift card.

What does Ineligible Format mean?

This means that your uploaded result was not a valid format. See above under “What is a valid format?”.

I got an email saying my test matched. Does this mean I get a gift card?

The answer is…it depends. This is an automated email indicating that a test result that was previously unmatched has now been matched. If you were the first person to submit this format, you will receive an email from our support team within 24 hours to notify you about your gift card.

How can I delete my data?

You can delete any test result at any time in the app. Simply click on the test result, then click delete then confirm. To have your account deleted, please email support@safefun.com. Account deletion in the app is in development and should be available by February 15, 2021.

Can I email my results to SafeFun?

Unfortunately, no. Email is not a secure medium. We only allow test result submissions from our app and from our web version at app.safefun.com.

Can I upload multiple results?

Absolutely but the same rules to gift cards still apply so uploading multiple instances of the same format will only represent a single entry into the gift card giveaway program.
